Who we are

You matter to God and you have a place in his family. We are a non-denominational congregation. We desire to introduce Jesus Christ to those who don’t have a personal relationship with him. We strive to encourage Christians to live a “crucified” life; a life which is obedient to the Word and the Holy Spirit.

What We Believe

Beliefs & By-Laws

BELIEFS
In truth, the sacred constitution of this church is the Holy Scriptures. Thus, the written Word of God as revealed in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible shall be the authoritative standard for the church body.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. We believe that both the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Scriptures constitute the divinely inspired Word of God.
(2 Tim 3:16)
2. We believe in one God existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Is 9:6, Jn 10:30, Mt 28:19, Jn 15:26, 2 Cor 13:4)
3. We believe in the dual nature of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God – that He became man without ceasing to be God,
in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinners. We believe in His deity, in His pre-existence, in His incarnation,
in His virgin birth, and in His death and resurrection.
(Gen 1:26, Jn 1:1, Jn 1:18, 1 Jn 5:20, Lk 1:31-35, Mt 27:32-28:10)
4. We believe the Holy Spirit is sent from the Father, through the Son, in order to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify, comfort and seal those who believe in Jesus Christ. We also believe in the power of the Holy Spirit as
manifested through believers.
(Jn 14:26, Jn 16:8, Titus 3:5, Rom 15:15-16, Acts 9:31, 2 Cor 1:22, Acts 1:8, 1 Cor 6:19)
5. We believe that apart from the vicarious and atoning death of Jesus Christ, sinful man is hopelessly and eternally lost.
Man has no means by which he alone can redeem, atone or justify himself before God.
(1 Peter 2:24, Is 53:5, Heb 9:22, Mk 16:16, Jn 14:6)
6. We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
whose atoning blood was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of sins.
(Jn 3:16, Heb 9:22, Eph 1:7, Eph 2:8)
7. We believe in water baptism for believers. Symbolizing the believer’s union in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and in the observance of the Lord’s Supper, commemorating the sacrifice of our Savior for all mankind.
(Rom 6:3-4, Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21, Lk 22:7-22)
8. We believe the life of the believer is to be marked by holiness, purity, godliness and fruit in order that he might be the light of the world
and the salt of the earth. To witness by life and word to the truths of the Holy Scriptures.
(2 Peter 3:11-12, Mt 7:15-23, Rm 12:1-2, Gal 5:22-23, Mt 5:13-16, 1 Peter 3:15)
9. We believe in the personal, visible, and bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in a resurrection of all believers,
whose names are written in the Book of Life.
(1 Thes 4:13-18, Heb 9:28, Rev 20:15)

why be a member

Many people attend church around the world, but few are committed to the mission Christ has called us to. The goal of SWCC membership is to see people choose commitment to Christ and his mission as well as to each other.

Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are all parts of his one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others. (Rom. 12:4-5)
